DEPARTMENT A -- OPEN CLASS BEEF CATTLE

Premiums Offered: $14745.00

Judging begins at 8 A.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2010
Entry Fee: $20.00 (Winners Only)
Stall Fee $14.00 per head

JUDGING RULES:

  1. A trophy will be awarded the Grand Champion Female in each breed division.
    Only first place heifers will be eligible for Grand Champion
    competition. Once the Grand Champion female has been selected, the second
    place female from the class the Grand Champion female was chosen will
    be allowed to compete with the remaining female class winners for
    the Reserve Grand Champion. Same rules apply to male classes and cow/calf classes.
  2. Steer classes will be split into weight classes previous to show.
    When filling entry, use BREED Premium Number for HEAVY WEIGHT classes.
  3. Market steers will be judged and placed according to breed in the
    following four classes: Hereford, Black Angus,  All other breeds and Commercial.
    Ribbons will be awarded by class to 4-H entries, Junior, and Open
    entries. For Grand Champion classes, first and second place animals can
    compete in the same manner as the breeding classes.
  4. Any rated 4-H white ribbon steer which the judge deems not market ready
    will be ineligible for the sale.
  5. The order of sale for the steers will be determined from a drawing by each
    exhibitor at the Fair Week Premier Weigh-In
